How does number porting work?

Step 1 - Porting request:
Start your number porting conveniently when ordering your new MTEL CH plan or request it later in your personal online customer area

Step 2 - Cancellation or Opt-In with your old provider:
To port your phone number to MTEL CH, you have two options:

1. Cancellation of your old contract:
If you want to cancel your old contract, please note the notice period and inform your current provider that you plan to port your number.

2. Opt-In option with an existing contract:
If you want to port your number from an existing contract, you can use the so-called opt-in option. To do this, you request the release of your phone number from your current provider. Your current provider will then give the new provider a period of 90 days to transfer the number.

 

Step 3 - Confirmation and transfer date:
Your old provider will confirm the cancellation and your request to port your number. We will then jointly determine the date for the transfer of your phone number to MTEL CH.
